Whether you want to thank a current teacher or reconnect with a past one, our platform makes it easy. You can write messages to be shared on your teacher’s profile and read the messages that they have received. It’s simple, secure, and the perfect way to show your gratitude. Anyone who wants to express their gratitude and appreciation towards a teacher can use Thank My Teacher. Whether you’re a parent, parent, colleague, student (age 13 and up), or anyone else who has been impacted by a teacher’s work, you can use our platform to thank them for all they do. Students under 13 can partner with the adults in their lives to write messages of gratitude together.

Thank My Teacher is not just for students and parents, it’s for teachers and other educational professionals too! Teachers, administrators, coaches, and other educators can use our platform to not only thank their colleagues, but also to have a special place to display all the wonderful messages of gratitude you receive from your community.

First things first, you’ll need to create an account and log in. It’s a quick and easy registration process — just provide your name, email, and a password and you’re ready to go! Once you’re logged in, you will complete a brief profile where you can identify your roles (teacher, coach, parent, student, etc.), add the schools you are connected to, and even add a profile picture. If you are an educator, you can add the grade levels and subjects you teach.

Use the search tool on the homepage to search for your teacher’s name and click on their profile. From there, you can read the thank you notes they have published to their profile and write and submit your own notes to them.

No worries! If you know your teacher’s email address, you can send them a request to join Thank My Teacher using the “Invite a Teacher” button at the top of the homepage. Once they join, you can thank them for being an amazing teacher.

Once you are on your teacher’s profile, simply click the button to Send a Thank You Note. You can then write your thank you note and click the button to send it.

If you don’t want your note to be published on your teacher’s profile, you can mark your note as private during the note creation process. Private notes can only be seen by you and the teacher you’re thanking.

Your teacher needs to approve your message before it shows up on their profile. Therefore, it may take some time for your note to appear.

Only educators (teachers, administrators, other school staff and coaches) can receive thank you notes. If you receive a thank you note, you will see a green dot on the notifications bell beside your profile picture letting you know that you have new messages. Click the bell to access your notifications.

Click your profile picture in the upper right of the screen and choose “My Profile” from the dropdown menu.

You can edit your profile from either the Edit Profile page (click your profile picture in the upper right of the screen and choose “Edit Profile” from the dropdown menu) or from your profile page (click “Edit”). After you make any changes, be sure to Save Changes.

Educators can add or remove thank you notes on their profile from either the notifications section of Thank My Teacher or on their profile page. From notifications, select a message and then click the Add/Remove button. Select the messages you would like to add to your public profile and deselect the ones you want to remove. From your profile page, click the Add/Remove button in the “My Highlights” section to add/remove messages on your profile page. Note that only publicly viewable messages can be added to your profile.

If you receive an inappropriate message, please let us know by clicking the “Contact us” link and providing us with the user and message in question. We take inappropriate behavior very seriously and will take action to ensure a safe and positive environment for all users.

Click your profile picture in the upper right of the screen and choose “Account Settings” from the dropdown menu. On this page you can change your password, manage email notifications, and disable or delete your account.

Nope, it’s completely free! You can write and receive as many thank-you notes as you want, without any charge.
